Expiration for this credit is December 31, 2010.
Two types of water heaters are acceptable in order to receive the credit:
Gas, Oil, Propane Water Heater
- Water heating accounts for 14-25% of in-home heating
- Energy Factor = 0.82 OR a thermal efficiency of at least 90%.

Electric Heat Pump Water Heater
- Water heating accounts for 14-25% of in-home heating
- Energy Factor = 2.0
- Tax credit includes installation cost
